i have so much to say i don't know what to say
I used to feel weird about people saying 'Sorry, I've been gone for a while,' because I don't think we should feel obligated to constantly share pieces of ourselves online. Except it's been a month (two if you don't count my last weeknote) since I last posted a blog and I almost wanted to say, 'Sorry, I've been gone for a while.'
In a draft that I didn't end up publishing, I wrote about how I didn't want my life to be an endless cycle of work on weekdays and rest on weekends. My point was that I was always too tired by the end of the week to do any hobbies. It's not that I am overworked, my body is plainly too frail and is in need of exercise. It would've been more ironic if I did publish that, because for the last five weeks, I've had a total of zero weekend to rest at home.
One of the reasons why I haven't blogged for a while is because I was moving a lot. I think I've had more errands in the last five weeks than in the ten months that I was unemployed. Mostly I was going out with friends. I visited the Mind Museum with my work friends one weekend, dined out with my mom and sister, met with my high school friends that I haven't seen in five years, and did an unhealthy amount of going to the cinema alone.
I got sick by week five, but I don't think the crazy weekend schedule is going to die down this week. Tomorrow, I'm going to attend J's graduation dinner. This weekend, an appointment with my psychiatrist and a date with my best friend, A. As a homebody, I feel so tired and fulfilled and in need of a restful weekend in solitude.
I miss writing here, and I will get back to that very soon1.
I also have emails to reply to... I'm sorry I haven't forgotten you please bear with me!↩
