slow nothings

welcome back to kalokairi

once upon a time i was so unemployed that i played animal crossing: new horizons (acnh) day and night, with barely any sleep in between. i wake up each morning and the first face i see is isabelle's. i checked the discord channel for villager trading every thirty minutes in search for lolly and marshal. i've collected enough nook miles from strangers on the internet that i didn't even have to forage and loot on mystery islands1 i visit - i just take off and get into a new flight if i don't see who i'm looking for. i bought NSO solely for this game. i got crazier each day and finally engaged with the forbidden magic also known as time travelling, which - and i had to learn this the hard way, despite many warnings from the internet - eventually made me burnt out.

and now i've returned!!!

i thought i'd blog about island updates every now and then to let me keep track of my progress.

the island, currently

island name: kalokairi
first villagers: pashmina2, curly
current villagers: lolly, ketchup, sasha, zucker, rudy, sherb, marshal, tia, marlo, ankha

here's my current map & villagers

my house (and almost all of my buildings) are still on the shore supposedly so i could move them around easier. i also just bought this outfit today

my airport front featuring... marlo's house, for some reasons. there's a lore behind this. i initially planned to assign a villager's house to one shop or establishment. this lot used to be aurora's house, and it was supposed to be a souvenir shop. now it's occupied by marlo and it's the opposite of... welcoming. lmao

paradise planning. i haven't been working a lot lately, lottie will soon fire me

vacation homes i've designed so far. as a rule, i try to prioritise villagers who i'm thinking i might let go. sherb......you're next

new layout planned

i've never done this before but i finally gathered enough brain cells and patience to figure out how to use the 3d planner rather than the 2d one that's more commonly used.

this is the general vibe. i'm excited to actually build this layout and slowly fill its little nooks and crannies (heh).

i once again had the urge to time travel, but i caught this little summertime butterfly and you know what? maybe some things are really meant to take time3.
