Documentaries
- Exploring Deep Ocean
- Episode 01 - I kind of fell down the rabbit hole of deep-sea exploration after discovering this cool website. It led me to the hadal zone, then to Challenger Deep, a little about the Piccards, and then on Victor Vescovo. When I was reading about him on the wiki, I was really amazed and thought he was some Tony Stark brain and wealth combination. He did achieve great feats! But I think I was a bit disappointed after the first episode of his documentary. I don't think the series itself was good; it felt very commercial. But I'm looking forward to maybe looking up other materials about him (and actually finishing the series).
- Episode 02 - The freezing water poses a new challenge (on top of everything else) in the southern ocean. Vescovo was brave for continuing even without the comms. I mean, I wonder if it's sunk cost fallacy at some point, but he gambled with his life and won. That takes guts.
- Episode 03 - I know I've said that the documentary's tone is very... commercial, but if you really think about it, the team did acquire a ton of scientific data in multiple fields that have a massive real-world potential. Now I'm thinking about the ethics of sharing those data...
- Episode 04 - The Challenger Deep, finally!!! I was holding my breath the entire time. And to have the Don Walsh on board while attempting this? Also, the fact that Vescovo returned down two days after the success of this attempt? And upon writing this, he has gone down FIFTEEN times? What the actual heck.
- Episode 05 - The moment my comms fail to work when I'm thousands of feet below is the moment I resurface immediately. But wow. Victor Vescovo did it, everyone. I also have very very high respect to Patric Lahey and Alan Jamieson and the rest of the team for the success of this mission. The ending made me tear up a little bit.
Film
- The Heat (2013) - Melissa McCarthy is so underrated. I think I love her here as an agent more than in Spy (2015).
Internet videos
Songs/Albums/Artists on repeat
- Carrie & Lowell, Sufjan Stevens
- Pag-ibig Ay Kanibalismo II - fitterkarma
- Hirap Kalimutan - Jan Roberts
Games
- A Little to the Left (2022)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2021)
New things I tried:
- Starbucks Roasted Chicken Pesto and Shiitake Mushroom on Flat Bread - 2 stars. I think this one's on me, I waited until like an hour and a half later before I ate it and it had already gone stale. I was biting into a hard biscuit rather than bread. Oof.
Events
- Added a lot of updates to my Neocities and once again decided I don't wanna use it after all. It's a never-ending cycle.
- Kind of an uneventful week. Mostly I just tried to survive.
Journal entries: 3
Times I went outside the house: 2, both times for errands that ended up with me studying/doing life admin at a Starbucks
