slow nothings

weeknote 14

August 16-22, 2026

Hello, friends.

In all honesty, I feel like I've forgotten how to write here lmao. I've been finding my footing aka trying to relearn how to write (?) ever since I renewed my BearBlog membership this August and evidently, I wasn't able to really sit down and write1 until now.

Where do I even begin? I considered for a moment trying to briefly write about what I was up to in the past couple of months. The idea isn't completely off the table but I'm also trying not to feel guilty about taking my time off the internet, even the indie web.

I have so many thoughts that I want to further explore and expound in writing. Again, I'm really trying my best to approach this as slowly as possible to keep the pressure off my shoulders2. This is also some sort of reminder for me that Weeknotes are supposed to be low-effort and just a quick way to recap what happened in the previous week.

It's rainy season here in the Philippines now. Despite the reported El Niño conditions, the southwest monsoon or habagat has been bringing heavy downpours to the country. We've had work suspensions for three consecutive weeks now. Last week, we've been suspended since Monday afternoon 'til the rest of the week. I fear that my work brain is already starting to crumble.

I've been watching a lot of X Files in the past weeks. I'm currently on Season 5. I can't say enough how much comfort this show brings me. I was in a situation the other day that would normally make me feel sad, but then I thought that I could watch another episode when I get back home and it made me feel better.

I also somehow stumbled upon my old Listography account and decided to revive it. From there, I discovered the thoughts.page and liked it more than status.cafe so I've migrated there.

Media I've consumed this week:

New things I've tried:

Journal entries: 3

Times i went outside the house: 2

  1. I feel like my last two posts this August don't really count.

  2. Pressure. I couldn't find a word for what I was feeling this entire August (with regards to coming back to blogging/writing in general) until now.
